Jansen music since I was in high school. Jodie is a very dedicated music lover and it'd a local business. I'm glad it's in aptos now. Please support this small local business. He knows his stuff and if he doesn't have what you need, he'll probably get it. I mean, you technically could shop at Amazon. But China makes crap. Local small businesses are the backbone of the economy.

I bought a used ukulele and needed strings and accessories. The gentleman knew exactly what I needed and the prices were good. I got the feeling they are customer oriented, not sales oriented. Parking is decent. The music store is at the opposite end of the shopping center from Safeway. I like this store, you will too!

This place is the best! As a piano teacher I found it near impossible to walk into any store and purchase music books anymore. I started shopping at Jansen's shortly after they moved from Watsonville to Aptos and have always had excellent customer service with a great selection of books. If they didn't have it they would order it for me. I recently moved up to Oregon, so sadly I won't be able to shop there often anymore- but before I left town I was eyeballing a gorgeous etched kalimba in the shop. A few weeks after I left I decided I couldn't live without it, called Jody up and he sent one to me in the mail the very next day. Pretty cool! The customer service goes above and beyond and the selection of musical instruments these days there is huge and awesome. No need to go anywhere else in Santa Cruz County for your music needs!!
