The facility is very large and well-lit, with equipment that looks new, providing a comfortable environment for workouts. Some weights are marked differently than other Planet Fitness machines, which can require a bit of figuring out. There is only one fly machine, and its seat appears worn. The staff is friendly and dedicated to safety and security, creating a supportive environment for members. However, some reviewers have noted that the gym could improve on cleanliness, especially since the older crowd sometimes forgets to clean their machines after use, which can be bothersome. There have also been suggestions to change the gym hours to 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. instead of the current 4 a.m. to 10 p.m., as members feel longer hours would be helpful. Overall, Planet Fitness remains a laid-back and motivating gym with Big Fitness Energy, aiming to help members achieve their fitness goals and feel energized all day long.
Overall, this is a solid location with plenty of cardio, strength, and functional training equipment. The gym is very clean, and the front desk staff member (Esequio) was friendly and welcoming.
The Black Card Spa area is spacious and offers the standard perks, including tanning (both booths and beds), massage chairs (HydroMassage and standard), and Total Body Enhancement units.
My suggestions for upgrades—especially at many Arizona locations—would include hybrid tanning/red light therapy beds, combo hot/cold therapy massage chairs, free-weight squat racks with barbells (beyond just Smith machines), and prowler sleds. I've seen several of these features...read full review
Very nice, clean, good customer service, but the only problem is that 25% of the machines are broken and out of service, and in the 5 days I was going to this gym, both men's urinals were out of service.
I go to Planet Fitness all across the country and this one was stellar. It was incredible seeing how peaceful it was, and clean as well. Arian was at the front desk, and he was very helpful and kind. I totally recommend going to this gym if you live in the Scottsdale area.
