Today my medication was picked up by a family member. The wrong medication was given to my family member by the receptionist who I really don't think she is the person for her position. I've thought this long before today but bit my lip. I feel that the right medication should be brought to me but this office thinks differently. Gas is a real problem for me right now. Come on, we are not talking about a controlled medication. If you really want a good primary, go to a regular doctor and not an office that is not competent to even give out the right medication. I mean they not me for a CT scan to check a blockage without contrast. My cardiologist wanted to know how they can check for a blockage without contrast. Good luck people
If you are 55 or Oberon, this is the place to go. They work in health teams. I have never had the care. And professionalism that I get from my health team of Yvonne Velasco and Christina Lantz. They are very thorough and they explain everything to you. If you feel that you are not getting the best treatment from your present primary care physician give Iora Medical One a try. They only work with Seniors. Make an appointment with Yvonne or Christina today.
I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone that needs medical care! I went for a new patient visit and was told to be there at 8:45 for a 9 am appointment. I was not called back until 9:20! I was taken back by my "health coach" (medical tech; who them reviewed my paperwork. When Yvonne NP finally came in the room she only looked at her computer and based her diagnosis on what appeared to be an algorithm for seniors. She wanted me to see psych, physical therapy, Doppler US for leg pain eval and full blood panel. The only complaint I had was leg pain.. She then rushed out of the room for a "meeting" I was sent a text a few days later from my "health coach" who told me my A1c was elevated and Yvonne wanted me to start Metformin, check my sugar sugars and followup for further A1c. My records clearly stated I had an adverse reaction to Metformin and I said I would not take it. We had multiple texts and the upshot was I would recheck my A1c in 3 months. I revisited Yvonne a month later so we could have an open communication. During that visit she told me I didn't need to take any meds and I would have another A1c in August. I did the test and once again a "health coach" texted me and said we would check it again in six months. Today I went in for a possible UTI. While Megan was doing triage, test results came back positive Megan told me she would give the results to Yvonne and treatment would be called in. I then received a call from Megan 2 hours later, saying Yvonne wanted to wait for culture results before prescribing antibiotics because the OTC I took could give false info. In the meantime I should drink plenty of water, continue the OTC med, take Tylenol for pain. If my symptoms worsened I should go to the emergency room. No where in the literature did it say it interferes with tests for infection. The pharmacist could not validate that either. Meanwhile, I am supposed to sit back and wait for culture results. I think the lack of treatment is outrageous.
