On Thursday January 22, 2026, my husband and I checked into our room at Grand Canyon Western Ranch. We joined Colby for a horseback ride. ( My second one ever, both were there) We went out and rode for about 2 hours with him. I had a horse named Brandy. She was a little bossy about the bit in her mouth and talked back a bit, but she never made a single step that frightened me. She was very well behaved other than being a little mouthy here and there. Colby was really nice and had loads of information to share about the surrounding areas. He even got a few pics for us when we stopped by the bison. We came back and went on a helicopter ride through the canyon. I was VERY nervous about that one, but we had a great fella as a pilot. Honestly, I wish we could have gone deeper into the canyon, but due to it being the land that belongs to the Hualapai Tribe, we were only permitted to go over at a certain location. Still, it was a beautiful view. In the evening we settled in for some dinner. We sat at a large table with another couple who was staying and we had our dinner with them and loved their company. We ordered the steak, and it was delicious! Kudos to the cook!! And last but by far, not least.... there is Cowboy Dave. You can't wait to meet Cowboy Dave. He will likely be hanging out in the dining room on a stool with his guitar and harmonica. He will greet you with a happy smile and a jolly laugh. He will chat with you and laugh will you as if he has known you all of forever. Then, out of nowhere, he will break out in song. It may be one you know.... and it may be one he is making up about you as he plays the guitar. Such a funny guy! We had a blast at the camp fire after our dinner singing songs with Cowboy Dave and roasting up some marshmallows for Smores. I could have sat there with him all night just enjoying the night air, great company, and fun songs to sing with him. I can't wait to see him next time we are around that neck of the woods. Our cabin.... oh the cabin. What a quaint place! We had a full/queen sized bed and a twin bed downstairs, and in the loft there were 2 more twin beds. It had a full bathroom and a small front porch. The beds had warming pads on them to help us stay toasty. Morning came around and we had the cowboy breakfast. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage and toast. We didn't have to wait very long for our breakfast or our dinner while we were there. Such a fun and amazing place. can't wait to get back out there for another amazing adventure. If I could give more stars for this place I absolutely would. All of the staff make you feel right at home and always welcomed us with a friendly smile. Put this on your bucket list. You won't be disappointed!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amazing experience and we loved our stay.
What an awesome ranch - we stopped in for the steak which came highly recommended. It was delicious! We will be coming back often! If we didn’t here in town then we would totally stay in on of the cabins. Staff was super friendly as well.
