About M3 Karate

M3 Karate is a well-known martial arts school in Gilbert that offers a holistic approach to student development. Master Mendoza and his team of instructors create a friendly and professional environment where students of all ages can improve their karate skills. Classes are structured and challenging, with personalized feedback to help each student grow. The school focuses not only on physical skills but also on personal growth, teaching values like discipline, respect, and confidence. Many parents appreciate the small class sizes and flexible schedules, which allow children to learn comfortably and at their own pace. The owner and main instructor, Master Mendoza, holds both kids and parents accountable, often using real-life scenarios like bullies to teach important lessons. Each class usually has at least three instructors, including former students, providing a great student-to-teacher ratio. Beyond karate, students are encouraged to become better people at home, with some earning stripes on their belt for achievements like cleaning their room or making their bed. The staff, including Ms. Amy, keeps everything organized to ensure a smooth experience. Overall, M3 Karate is known for producing confident, respectful, and well-rounded individuals who enjoy their lessons and look forward to returning.

We've previously tried other karate schools with our first kids (at big chain schools) and always felt it was just a conveyor belt system to push you through belts and milk you for $$ along the way while the kids just memorized basic routines.

For our 3rd child, we came across M3 Karate as it was near our house, and the reviews were all VERY positive, so we gave it a try.

Within 5 minutes of our intro class, we knew this was the school for our child. Our son had issues with confidence and coordination, and from the start, he held our son accountable and brought out a voice in him we hadn't heard before.

After 2-3 months at the school now, our son enjoys the classes SO much and shows so much respect towards his teachers, and we feel confident we will remain at this school for a long time. The owner (and main instructor), Master Mendoza, holds the kids and parents accountable, provides them with real-life scenarios (bullies, etc) and he always has at least 3 instructors (all former students) for each class so your child gets a great experience with a good student-to-teacher ratio at this school. His instruction extends beyond the karate studio as he encourages his students to be better people at home. Our child now cleans his room more often, makes his bed and has a stronger voice in public with new people...alot of which comes from Master Mendoza offering incentives and also having certain "stripes" on their belt that come from at-home and/or school items. They offer flexible class schedules that work with our schedule and Ms. Amy (owner) keeps everything organized on the back end for a nice experience on all fronts. We can't recommend M3 Karate enough and encourage others to give it a try.

We finally found something our son is passionate about, and it is here at M3 Karate. We have seen a change in his behavior for the better. He is more confident and disciplined. We have tried and looked into a few different studios, but we like the smaller class size and the flexibility of class times and choices.
