Both the air conditioners in our home were over twenty years old, but they were still working fine. Over the past several years, whenever we had a problem with a unit, a contractor from our home warranty company would invariably tell us the unit was too old to be repaired and needed to be completely replaced. Luckily, I found McConahy Mechanical several years ago and they have been outstanding. Every time the home warranty company would say the units weren't repairable, I'd call McConahy and they'd come out within a day and fix the unit for a very reasonable charge. I eventually dropped our home warranty coverage, since it was clear their contractors either weren't competent or weren't honest, or some of both. We finally decided to replace both units this year. The only company I called was McConahy Mechanical, since I trust them implicitly based on all my prior interactions with them. The quotes they gave me were reasonable, Chris McConahy called me to cover the differences between the quotes and answer all my questions, and they scheduled the work within two weeks. The new units were installed over two days, and they are fantastic! As always, the crew from McConahy showed up exactly on time, they were friendly, polite, and professional, the work was done in the time frame they'd quoted, there were no "surprise charges", and they cleaned up meticulously when they were finished. Chris called me over the weekend just to make sure everything about the project had gone smoothly and to make sure we are pleased. Of all the many contractors we've dealt with over the past nearly forty years, I would put McConahy Mechanical at the very top of the list in terms of integrity and professionalism. They have always surpassed our expectations in terms of responsiveness, and every single one of their team members that we've met over the past several years has been a delight to work with. I would give this company fifty stars if I could, because it's so hard to find a company with this exceptional level of customer service these days. My Casita AC failed. It is 23 years old. Chris the owner came to give me an estimate; the details are extrordinary. 1. His bid was significantly lower than the others. 2. I went with a ductless A/C. His quote included closing up five duct holes from the old unit, sheet rocking, patching and painting; the only bid to do this. 3. A truck came and took the old unit away. At the end of the job, I looked at what was done and to coin a phrase that I saw on television; "like it never really happened". Everything was perfect.
