14 hours agoNew-Edit Delete My experience with Jim Brown HVAC company involved them installing a Lennox heat pump dual fuel furnace (repalcing a 27 year old gas furnace/ air conditioner). Everyone from the owner (and his wife), the secretary, installers, and technicians have been very helpful and professional. The owner evaluated my situation, guiding me into a unit that fit my needs. He didn't try to oversell me on a higher priced unit that would probably never save us enough to pay for itself. On the contrary, he suggested a mid-efficiency unit would fit our needs at a reduced cost to us. Not only that, but once we settled on a unit, a handshake is all it took to get it ordered. Who still does business this way in 2024- not many, I'm fairly sure. The day of the install, Mr. Brown came out to make sure the installation was going smoothly. As with any bigger job, there are always some minor issues, but those were immediately and satisfactorily resolved. The technician that came out was extremely knowledgeable, also. The unit we chose was the Lennox Merit series with a single stage compressor, variable speed fan motor, and dual stage gas backup. One of our main goals was to get a quieter unit, along with increased comfort and efficiency. Let me just say, this unit, it's much quieter than the unit it replaced - night and day. Comfort is much better as well, though granted, we aren't in a period of extreme weather here at the end of October. Concerning efficiency, time will tell, but I'm sure it will far exceed our 27-year-old Goodman. Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommend this company for not only new installations, but also technical advice and troubleshooting, I would say that this company definitely stands by their word, and they don't take advantage of folks who don't know exactly what they need. It's quite refreshing to do business with a local, family-owned company that still values honesty and integrity.
