“Are you looking for the kind of barber shop where you have a small discussion if you're comfortable, with a barber who's partially judging you while, at the same time, not caring? This is the place to go. Mason's Barbershop is a time capsule in the best way possible. It's like walking into a barbershop from the 1960s. He doesn't take any appointments. You go in, you pay the man, and he cuts your hair and lines your hair up nicely. Unlike many new barbers, he's not afraid to touch the top of your head, and he won't waste your time with a highly detailed fade that just grows out after a few days. He'll give you a sustainable and traditional haircut, which is complemented well if you use pomade. And he won't talk your ear off, but, at the same time, he won't make you sit in awkward silence.

In my experience, it was pleasant. The barbershop itself is spacious, even though it looks small from the outside, clean, and has that smell—maybe a mixture of talcum powder, pomade, and shaving soap. I can't place it, but it is a lovely scent. This is the barbering experience for you if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for a haircut every month. The cut itself is not too gentle and, at the same time, not too rough.

Going to a barber like this is like shaving with a double-edged safety razor. It's slow, ritualistic, but, at the same time, you won't be sitting in there for an hour. You'll be in and out in about 25 minutes, and you'll have your neck lined up nicely. You'll feel fresh, cleaner than when you went in.
