It is about teamwork and seeing improvement in ourselves and our team, with training consistently aimed at reaching the fullest potential. The studio becomes a second home and an extended family, where many friendships are made and the experience is enjoyable for students and parents. Dancers grow tremendously in their technique and appreciation for multiple genres, including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, acro, and pointe. I highly recommend Gulf Coast Dance Alliance to any dancer who strives to become better! As with any discipline… It takes hard work! Mentally, and physically, students will have to break down bad habits and create new ones. The staff at GCDA are prepared to help students to their best of their abilities whether it be recreational dancers or those who strive for professional dance careers. Gulf Coast Dance Alliance truly shaped me into the dancer I am today. ALL of the staff are so incredibly talented and care about their students immensely. My technique got SO much better and my appreciation for certain genres grew tremendously. I made the Auburn University dance team BECAUSE of Gulf Coast. Melissa Covo became my mom away from home. She cared for me outside of dance - she would come to my high school football games to see me cheer. She even came all the way to Auburn to watch me dance a few times. My experience at Gulf Coast has been one consisting of nothing but positive growth. I am a current junior considering how I want to continue my dance career and, because of the training I have received here, I am prepared for any career path I choose. Whether I decide to audition for a college dance team, join a professional dance company, or pursue a career completely unrelated to dance, this studio has taught me life skills that will allow me to succeed in any area.
