Before having ceiling repairs done, we needed an inspection of a support beam in our attic. We had a load-bearing wall removed and cracks have appeared in the ceiling. Scott came out and stood on a step ladder and looked at the beam. He told me that he could not go into the attic to inspect the entire beam because of his size. He said someone his size could cause more damage to the attic. He was able to tell me that the beam is the correct size. Why would you come out to do an attic inspection, knowing that you are too large to go into the attic? Certainly not worth their $695 fee!

Very frustrating to deal with. Arrogant and unprofessional. Accused me of trying to get free design. I told them to tell me the cost and I would gladly pay but I need an engineer that I can work with. Extremely slow to respond and always made me feel like I was bothering them. I went with another engineer and paid for a visit, calcs and PE sealed drawing. Night and day difference between the two engineers.

I had to get second opinion to get an accurate report on my house. Scott Grimes recommended $30,000 in repairs and yet never took one measurement of any kind. Engineering by walking around.

Whether or not I am your client you were inspecting my property. I am a licensed engineer as well. I know what good work looks like.

I would not recommend and would encourage others to be very, very cautious.
