About RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove
RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove offers a variety of enjoyable golf experiences set in beautiful grounds. Visitors often praise the friendly staff, especially in the pro shop, and the overall hospitality. The courses are generally in good condition, with greens that are firm and true, providing a good putting surface despite some wear and tear. The Highland course is known for its many sand traps and a layout that is fun but challenging, particularly for accurate ball placement. The River course features lots of water and requires strategic play, with no bunkers but plenty of water hazards that add to the challenge. The 18-hole par three course offers a fun diversion for all skill levels. The grounds are well-maintained, with nice driving ranges and scenic views. However, some players note that the greens can be a bit banged up, and divots are often not repaired. The rough can be quite thick, making it easy to lose balls if not careful. The courses are valued as good options, especially with a trail card, and improvements over recent years have made Hampton Cove a better choice compared to other local courses. Beyond golf, the facility offers fishing in ponds where visitors can catch catfish, with walkways making access easy. Occasionally, there may be some unruly visitors or minor inconveniences like empty water coolers, but overall, Hampton Cove provides a friendly, scenic, and enjoyable experience for golfers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
Had an amazing time at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove! I was honestly shocked by how great the hospitality was and how much fun we had on the course. I visited with my Fairway Golf Society ladies, and honey — we had a blast! The course was beautiful, the staff was so welcoming, and the entire experience was top-tier. We’ll definitely be back soon!
Played all three courses over three days. Fantastic weather all week. Low humidity, mid to high 80s. River course has lots of water as advertised. No bunkers. Still not easy. You must keep your ball in the fairways because the rough is a ball eating style we weren't used to. Hard to find when it settles into it. Keep a sharp eye on where it goes. All three were like this. The short course was a fun little diversion but still not easy unless you are accurate with your ball placement. Pick your tees for your style of play and then move to the next forward tee. Trust me, you'll thank me later. The Highland course was more of the same. This course has plenty of sand traps....read full review
Very pretty grounds. Very nice driving range area. Greens were in pretty good shape except they were beat up pretty badly. They were very soft and nobody was fixing their divots. Water coolers were empty but at least it was only around 90°. Paying as much money as we do to play there, I would expect the water coolers to have water in them.
