Dr. Purcell and staff are awesome! She saved my little Missie (Shitzu). She was very sick over a weekend and they got me in Monday, ran blood work. Some of her numbers were so high they weren’t even registering. Not good. But she got meds in her and I brought her back every morning and by Wednesday (the day I was going to put her out of her misery 😩) when she ran the blood work again her numbers were improving - still high but registering and improving. We continued care - meds and fluids. She thinks her gallbladder was about to burst. So thankful to them for saving her little life. I’ve been following Dr. Purcell from Spanish Fort Pet Hospital to Jubilee Pet Hospital and finally to her own practice at Eastern Shore Pet Hospital - 2015 to present (3/2026). I completely trust her and her team. Dr. Purcell helped me say goodbye to Benny, my 17-1/2 year old dachshund in 2018 and has been Rufus’s doctor since he was 7 weeks old in 2019. Rufus, also a dachshund, was recently diagnosed with Stage 5 IVDD. I don’t know how I would get through this without her. She’s so wonderful & supportive; loves the babies and they love her. Dr. Purcell and her team saw my baby as a new patient. He was already very sick but it was sudden. This was my child! A few days later I had to make that horrible decision that all fur parents have to make. I had to say a very hard goodbye. Dr. Purcell and her staff were so compassionate and caring. I’ve never experienced the kind of caring they showed. She gave him a shot to ease him and make him sleepy. I was given time, before the final shot, to spend time with him and to say goodbye.
