Hiring this company (this one man, Michael Strength) was a mistake. We thought hiring a local contractor, a local person, well versed in the codes in this area, would be a good investment….he will RIP YOU OFF! We couldn’t even fire him when we knew we were being screwed because he made sure that our house was in such a state that no other contractor would even look at it. He is using the fact that he is a Fairhope native and knows the laws/codes/subcontractors to laugh all the way to the bank. DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS GUY (or his Mickey Mouse company.) You will Regret hiring this man (company.) FYI :he lives in a gorgeous house and brings his wife out to meet you, to look like a family man, it’s a scam. Don’t get scammed by Michael and Michele Strength!

Do not use this company. We had a nightmare experience. General Contractors are needed to make sure you stay on budget and meet your timeline and obviously to provide a quality finished project. None of these things happened in our case. From another state, we hired 5A to complete a full house remodeling job that included water damage and mold abatement. Although we could tell not much work had been done, he kept demanding more and more money from us. At one point he had not applied $40,000 that we had paid him, but was asking for more. After being way over budget and time, as well as, terrible work quality, we had to fire them and hire another company to take over and manage the job. We are now paying to re-work much of what had been done because it was so poorly executed and would never have met code. He rarely shows up on the job and he kept our property filthy. He had no respect for anything on our property. Windows were broken that we must now repair. He cuts corners! He would not communicate what was going on at our home or if he did, it was a lie. For example, we met one Saturday to go over the job and he never told us we had failed our inspection just 1 day prior. He kept atrocious books. When we asked to see his accounting, it was just a file of receipts that could have been for any job. He is so unprofessional. The builder will not respond to our letters asking for our deposit and other monies that are ours, so he left us no other recourse but to pursue it legally. It has been such a disappointing experience.
