The light-hearted conversations and encouragement from fellow patients create a supportive environment. The hospital's security guard, Roy, and staff members, Mrs. Rice and the receptionist, are acknowledged for their welcoming personalities and commitment to patient comfort. The hospital is highly recommended for its exceptional staff and overall care.
After reading some of the reviews, I know this may not be popular. But I have always been a Flowers fan. My daddy was a patient during the critical time of Covid. Although I couldn't physically be with him I felt confident from my own experience many years ago that he was 1st receiving the best of care from some of the best doctors and nurses. I know how busy they were, over whelmed in fact, but the doctor took time to speak to me about my daddy's condition. He also had an excellent nurse, who not only met his medical needs, but comforted him when his family couldn't be there. I remember being on the phone with him once and heard the nurse say "Daddy do you need anything "( that was all he was responding to) and me being the daddy's girl I am asked who is that and he replied" she is my nurse" and that she was knowledgeable and kind. Although my sweet daddy lost the battle I never doubted not one minute that medically they were doing all that they could for him. I have had many family members in serious condition be at Flowers most recently nephew and niece and they received the best of care. The staff saved one twice and couldn't save one, but I never doubted the care given by the team at Flowers. Flowers staff has always made me feel as though thank you is not enough because they always give 103% even in critical times.
Normally, Flowers is great but tonight I have no words. The ER was overflowing. The normal waiting room was full of untreated and/or sick patients that have been waiting since early afternoon & it's now past midnight. This is unacceptable, whatever the reason. Whomever is in charge & doing triage can do much better.
I had a rare condition of my aortic valve that Dr. Brooks was able to diagnose me with, I had been dismissed by many physicians but Dr Brooks was determined to figure out what was going on. Once diagnosed he told me there were only 200 documented cases of the condition I had over 2 decades. Dr Wanna was my surgeon and fixed my aortic valve and he was great also, actually every physician that graced me with their presence was wonderful. I cannot remember the nurse that took care of me in ccu/cvicu the one night I was there, but thank you for recognizing something was wrong and calling a rapid response on me, you saved my life! Once I moved out to 3 South, all my nurses were wonderful, PT was great, my nurse JJ on my last night was my favorite, she anticipated my needs ahead of time and treated me wonderfully. Thank you to the 4 south nurses for coming to see me and the beautiful flowers y’all brought me. Flowers hospital was my choice for my life changing surgery and I’m so glad I chose them!
