Not even 2 weeks after closing first good rain, we have roof leaking in two different places. We also have electrical problems. Neither were discovered in the inspection. I had a roofer tell me a simple test for moisture would have uncovered the 2 roof leaks. Water stains were visible at the time of inspection & I did bring that to the inspectors attention. He said he saw no signs leak was active. I haven't even gotten an electrician yet. We've only been in the new house about 2 weeks so who knows what else was missed.Yes, he was fast but, that doesn't help us now.Save your money or go with another inspector.????????????I'M GLAD YOU RESPONDED TO MY REVIEW THREE YEARS LATER.WAY TO STAY ON TOP OF THINGS, JERRYI have to wonder why you care now?????You didn't care three years ago.In Jerry's response he brought up a very good point. Not only did he not do a simple moisture test on leak spots. (YES! SPOTS WERE BROUGHT TO JERRY'S ATTENTION! WHO WOULDN'T MENTION A POTENTIAL ROOF LEAK TO AN INSPECTOR?????)Jerry also refused to climb on the roof because he stated it was to steep. I am a female yet, I have been on the roof. Roofers have been up there also. If Jerry is scared to climb on a roof, maybe he should find a different line of work. People trust you, Jerry. Don't take advantage of that. Karma will get you every time. We reap what we sow.He talked like he could tell everything was OK from the ground, using binoculars. I should have realized that was ridiculous & impossible but, he is supposed to be a professional. I trusted him. After all, I know nothing about home inspection. That's why I hired Jerry.I'm an honest person. I have no reason to lie. Jerry knows the truth. Instead of an apology he's trying to make me out to be dishonest. That speaks volumes!Honesty, integrity, nobility, trustworthy ....Those things make a good inspector & a good person, JerryJust do the right thing in the future.I forgive you, Jerry..God has blessed me with the means to fix everything. You have to answer for your actions. After the inspection Jerry's truck wouldn't start. I jumped him off with my truck. He offered to pay me $20 for that. I refused the money. I told him I would want someone to help me. If I had known then what I know now, I would have taken that money toward a box of floor tile because.....Since Jerry decided to respond 3 YEARS LATER here's an update... We had to replace a whole bathroom floor. All the way down to subflooring because Jerry missed a simple toilet leak around the ring. That's why the tile was cracked, Jerry. Also, yes, we've had to reach out to an electrician because of electrical problems.I'm just trying to save others a whole lot of grief & money.Buying a new home should be a good experience. You shouldn't wake up with water pouring inside your new home two weeks after closing. Or unexpectedly replace a whole floor within 5 months after paying for an inspection. (We would have caught the leak sooner if Jerry hadn't assured us there were no leaks.)We are at the mercy of these inspectors. If we don't look out for each other & hold them accountable others will be taken advantage of in the future.Don't just trust my review. Read others who have used Jerry. There are good honest inspectors out there. In my opinion, Jerry is not one.
OMG!!! We had to call in an electrical specialist. He found areas that were NEVER mentioned in the inspection report. I was appalled!!! A bit of previous info....I was a Realtor in Knoxville, TN in 2009-2012. I had an amazing inspector, who also worked for the city regarding building codes. He took pics and addressed EVERY PROBLEM...otherwise, I would have never continued to use him, but he was AWESOME..... and addressed every complication to the fullest!! I've just moved here to Decatur, AL just now in 2022 of Aug... our report (done by Jerry White) consisted of NOTHING!! Every area in his report stated "N/A" ...no recommendations or anything. I've NEVER seen a report such as this!!! I could have done this inspection and have reported the very same as his. Do not use this person. He/his company is NO INSPECTOR.
Jerry did a horrible job inspecting the home we bought. He only stated the obvious, and even then his statements were inaccurate. He didn't go in the crawl space or attic. I asked him why and he said its too small of a space. For one, if you're too big to do your job, find another profession. When we moved in, the toilet wouldn't even flush. all the waste water and sewage backed up in to the laundry room. The main drain line coming out of the house was completely clogged. there were water line leaks, drain leaks and mold under the house. when I tried to contact him he wouldn't answer his phone. I left messages and He never had the decency to call me back. Poor excuse for a Home inspector. I have since had to replace the main sewage line going out of the house, breakers, drain lines, p-traps, and water lines. Anyone who is reading this, a monkey could have done a better job! ....... Update to the owners response to claim he would damage duct work in the attic.THERE IS NO DUCT WORK IN THE ATTIC! He would have known that had he actually even looked in the attic.
