Great hospital. Unfortunately since the university of Alabama in Birmingham has bought it. They have increased the copays for everything. The university wants their money no matter what.

I had a CT scheduled for 10 am. Arrived at 9:30 as requested. Finished registering at kiosk, and was told to go sit down. 45 minutes later I went back to front desk asking how long since I was supposed to be at pre-registration at 11. They didn't do the paperwork and I was not registered, their fault. The head person acted like it was my fault. That really made me mad. The CT tech was good. They need to be organized at front desk.

In my short 21 years of life, I’ve had more surgeries than most. My last surgery, with the north tower, being my 7th time being put under anesthesia. I like to think after so many I have at least a small amount of right to judge my experiences at each hospital. The north tower took my 6 other experiences all into consideration and gave me an experience that I can’t explain how much I appreciate. The anesthesiologist took my concerns from my last surgery at st Vincent’s 119 about my pain block being so painful I was screaming, and went above and beyond making SURE I was sedated and didn’t feel any pain.
