As someone new to Bethel and Alaska, I was happy to hear of a local barber in Bethel. I have thinning hair that looks better when it is kept clean and cut. Stan did an impressive fade, which turned out great. Cost $25, cash only. First come first serve, but worth the wait. Friendly conversation. I can rest easy knowing there is a fine barber in Bethel.
Stan's is my go-to place for a haircut. As others have said, it's a cash only, first come first served basis, but I've always found any wait time to be worth it, and talking with him while in the chair is always a ton of fun—part of the small town charm is definitely talking about Bethel's past and the current goings on (in addition to him knowing exactly what my usual cut is). As long as I live in Bethel I'll be coming back!
As always great old school barbershop with a great, old school barber. Stan's great at cutting and great at conversations, also a really nice guy. I hope Stan's is around as long as I am if not longer.
