Westgrove Clinic is an appointment-based primary care clinic providing medical services to the communities of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Parkland County, and surrounding areas. Operating under the Medical Home Model, the clinic offers team-based services of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dieticians, social workers, and therapists to patients under one roof. Patients have praised the new doctors, who promptly and carefully address their health concerns. The front desk staff, especially Naomi, have been described as extremely helpful and accommodating, despite the clinic's busy schedule. While the reception can be busy, patients have found the staff to be polite and make efforts to fit them in as soon as possible.
The doctors are very good for the most part. My only issue with westgrove is I’ve been going here for years and just in the last two years I’ve found the front desk staff isn’t the most welcoming. It makes it harder for someone like me to WANT to call the doctor. But my second issue is over the past year I’ve needed to see a doctor for minor things but things I need dealt with right away and my doctor is booked up for MONTHS. I’ve had no luck getting in same day or within a few days with a different doctor. Which has forced me to go to walk ins or even hospitals. I had a good experience during the time I was pregnant a few years later I was diagnosed with a neurological condition and went to see my FD and she said “I’m not a neurosurgeon, what do you want me to do?” Maybe a care plan? Pain management plan? More referrals? Was extremely ignorant.
These days, being able to find a doctor in Alberta is a rarity and I feel extremely blessed to have such an awesome family doctor that I've had for years.
Have there been days I can't get an appointment the same day? Of course. Sometimes my Doctor isn't available for weeks. Do I wish Queen Street Medical still had a walk in clinic? Of course.
One thing I try to never do, however, is take it out on the medical staff, least of all the Front End staff who seem to get the most negative of feedback in the ratings.
