I would like full disclosure, upfront, when being informed. One of my recent visits, I was told “the tooth can be saved”. So I thought “oh thank goodness, I’m amazed it’s not as bad as I thought”, to being told “yep, it can be saved, it’ll be a root canal” shortly after. No thank you, and thanks for telling me after I got excited 🥲
🦷 Don’t forget to ask for your teeth if you want them: I also wish they’d ask if you want to keep your pulled teeth. Dentists ARE allowed to ask you if you want to, I’m not sure why they don’t. It’s sketchy they don’t ask. I was thinking about asking for it the whole time I was getting it pulled, and when it was being stubborn, I think it shook the thought right out. I completely understand it may be a biohazard to others, but I’ve had these teeth in my mouth forever, it is MY tooth, it is not a biohazard to me. I should've been asked. I cannot see why that would be a problem. I do not trust anyone, so odd little things like “we can’t ask if you want your own tooth”, rubs me the wrong way. My extracted tooth better be destroyed, I’ll never know for sure :(“
