Tan Violin Shop does beautiful repairs, great and small. Among the things they've done for me include reviving a fiddle that sat unused for 70 years! It sounds great! They also turned this instrument from a left handed-fiddle (which, oddly, had a right-handed scroll) into a right-handed instrument by removing the old bass bar, installing a new one on the other side, and repositioning the sound post. They also properly fixed the broken neck of a bass I brought in. The neck had previously been broken at the heel and "repaired" at a well-known string shop in Calgary, only to re-break in the same spot soon after. Tan's performed miracle surgery with carbon-fibre rods, and the neck held, good as new.
Great personal service shop. Knowledge and honest luthier for the violin family of instruments. Many fine instruments available as well. Both thumbs up!
