Jim at Bella Music is the very best! I've been playing cello for more than 20 years and he has become my go-to person for repairs and tune-ups. I bought my cello from Bella Music many years ago and I truly love it and had a lovely experience while picking it out. Jim is kind and knowledgeable and makes me feel like my precious instrument is in very good and capable hands whenever I bring it in.
My 5 year old daughter and I visited Bella Music today and Jim fit her with a violin and a cello (she didn’t know which one she wanted to play). Jim took lots of care and patience to make sure it was the proper fit and showed her some technique on both. He is very knowledgeable and did a wonderfully thorough job throughout the whole process and at no time did we feel rushed. My daughter chose the violin in the end and I believe it was a wonderful first experience for her and the violin. Thank you Jim.
By apointment only - Jim Doucet has been a vital fixture in the Edmonton music community forever - he put my very first violin in my hands 11 years ago. Incredibly knowledgeable with repairs of stringed instruments and very attentive to details.EDIT: Whoops, not 11 yrs ago, 31 years ago!!!!! Hahaha silly muscular fat fingers
