The food and volunteers that work the Friday night food and music are great! The meat draw is only for locals, or so it seems! The seller always returns repeatedly to the same tables and does not venture to new people! If you are trying to attract non locals to attend when they are visiting the island, the way you are operating the meat draw will not do it. We were there for 8 of the 10 draws, and were not offered to get in on any of the 8. Seriously thinking twice about supporting such a great cause.

It's a nice drive from Sault Ste Marie. It became a family tradition when I was a child every spring to go to the Royal Canadian Legion for their annual pancake breakfast during Maple syrup season. We passed it on to our children and now our grandchildren are the 4th generation enjoying this tradition. The Island folk are very friendly and welcoming. The tables are monitored for syrup and cleared quickly to keep the flow going. Local vendors have their crafts and syrup for sale. Nice family outing.

The bar at the legion is a nice place. The hall is big & a great place to rent out for weddings or other occasions. They do Friday night foods there to & the food is so good! They have a nice pool table to use to.
