Wonderful doctor. I'm so surprised by the negative reviews I'm reading but it sounds like a lot of people who cancel surgery last minute and are surprised their deposit is kept. That's how that works! And if the schedule is behind, that shows he is thorough! Do you want him rushing surgery on your eye? I think not.Also the extra tests he performs that insurance doesn't covered helped diagnose my eye better. It's my vision and completely worth paying for. He is a expert in his field, I don't expect Groupon prices for fantastic results.Do your research but also understand you're taking a physician's time so you will have to pay for that. Most staff are friendly, but could move patients a bit faster- I am rarely out before 1&1/2 hours. Also, I am in a wheelchair so a wheelchair door would help, especially with the hill on the .entrance to navigate

Dr. Balch did cataract surgery on both my eyes. He did exceptional job. I have been going to him for years and always very professional. The medical staff at Laser Outpatient and Surgical Center were top rated.
