When my parents first introduced me to the possibility of working with Sue, I was hesitant because of my prior experiences with therapists. I would either receive a band-aid for the massive wounds I had or homework to take home that did not examine the root of my problems. They spoke to me but not with me. But when I met Sue, she was different. She asked the hard questions that I never thought about or even asked myself. Sue was patient with me when I took steps backward and taught me how to use DBT in conjunction with what I enjoyed and cared for the most, such as my faith.
