Since I became a regular patron of this establishment in 2019, the business's current owner, Mr. Dan Sartain, has always provided me top-tier service for a fantastic value. Situated inside an early Twentieth Century brick edifice with an ornately decorated window matching its red, white, and blue barber’s pole, Dan Sartain’s Barber Shop harkens back to Woodlawn’s founding and has been a fixture of the community since 1904, when the space was first occupied as a single-chair, 12’ x 22’ establishment. I just finished up my first haircut at Dan's, great cut just what I asked for, and my melon isn't easy to cut. Dan even shaved my neck with warm shave cream n a straight razor. It's been a long time since I've had a barber do that. I'm a pretty frequent cutter, I like my haircut about every 3 weeks, so I'm excited to find such a friendly barber. If you're in the Woodlawn area or close(IronDale) give Dan a try, you'll be impressed with the service Dan provides.

)I'm not a 'real man', but I am a woman with a fade & working toward growing the top for a quiff (if the barbers would quit taking too much 'off the top.') After a mediocre experience at another barber in November (2019), I just waited until after the holidays. Using Google to find Barbers near me, I figured I'd give Dan a try. His shop was empty when I walked in, but it was cold & rainy that day. He had no issue cutting my hair, asking me tons of questions to get a really good idea of what I wanted.
