What's not to love? I've been attending random drop ins at Big alongside my fiancé for the last three or so years and I have to say that this is one beautiful community of yogis. Occasionally the classes are blessed with live musical accompaniment. Occasionally half of the class is Ashtanga-esque, and there's always a challenge/program to participate in. With each and every class you're sure to experience a different flow (in the best way), an unparalleled engaging instructor, words of empowerment, and lavender towels (a welcome addition to shavasana.) Offering classes at most times of the day, I find this a fantastic post work wind down! Just be mindful that parking can be tricky for popular classes and times, and so can finding space on the floor. Bring water, a towel, and your mat, and arrive early :). Oh...and do not expect mirrors!
Celebrating 250 classes of accomplishment at #bigpoweryogahouston today! -- This community of awesome people, filled with mind & body awareness has helped me thrive and will welcome you with open arms! Give it a try! I can't thank the staff and teachers enough. Check them out on Instagram at @bigpoweryoga or @BigPowerYogaHouston (located in the Montrose neighborhood off West Dallas St. near Allen Parkway. Simply, GREAT!
I had my first session at Big Power Yoga the past week. It was a celebratory class with the TEP20. Probably the most fun I've had in a while working out. The class was 90 minutes long and the staff was so accommodating despite my slightly late arrival (my apologies--I hurried as fast as I could from work). But these guys are the real deal. The staff and yogis really help create a welcoming, fun loving, and often times laugh out loud funny atmosphere. It's contagious. I've read parking can be somewhat difficult to deal with, but from what I saw, there seems to be options. The day I went there were plenty if street parking... a parking garage... and a gated parking lot (not sure if it's specific for the building but it seems to touch). Thanks, Lesley, for inviting us out. I sure had a lot of fun.
