Court Street Chiropractic Chiropractors

“I have been a patient of Patti Jacobson since I moved to Ithaca to do my PhD at Cornell in 2010. As a grad student I do too much sitting, which has affected my back. Every time I get a treatment at Court Street Chiropractic, I feel immediate relief of tension and pain. Getting treatments at regular intervals makes a huge difference in my quality of life. I have found making appointments easy and reception staff kind and friendly. Patti is a fantastic practitioner and a rare person. I could not recommend her and Court Street Chiropractic enough.“

Spinal Wellness Center of Ithaca Chiropractors

“Dr. Pierre really does fix spines.I am 30, and I remember first noticing that my shoulders were uneven in seventh grade. It didn't worry me then, but as I became more active and began my career in biological fieldwork, pain started to arise and worsened throughout my twenties. I do not mean discomfort; I mean severe, stabbing, burning, 10 out of 10, unrelenting pain. Sometimes it was accompanied by disconcerting feelings of spinal instability. The pain often occurred just inside my shoulder blade or in my arms, but mostly it was concentrated in my upper back. It clearly felt like nerve pain to me, because of its intensity and manifestation in disparate areas innervated by single spinal nerve roots. Muscular pain would follow, as my back muscles would fire like crazy trying to protect my spine. Little movements, like making the bed or reaching overhead, would trigger days-long episodes of incapacitating pain. I missed work, missed hanging with friends, missed being able to just relax at home due to the extreme pain. I look back now and wonder how I managed to live like that, let alone participate in any of the outdoor activities I loved.I love being outside. I carry a heavy pack and hike long distances for my job with the Forest Service, traveling the country doing botany and wildlife fieldwork. I backpack, surf, snowboard, play frisbee, and run around with my dog in my free time. The joy from these activities kept me going despite constant, daily pain, but sometimes the pain kept me from accessing that joy. Sometimes I literally could not move, not even to toss a frisbee for my dog.Obviously, I sought medical help. Over the past four years, during which the pain had become most severe, I went to the ER multiple times, tried muscle relaxants, tried painkillers, tried PT, tried acupuncture, tried massage, tried a different chiropractor. Nothing addressed the issue. I spent thousands of dollars and so much time trying to fix whatever the **** was wrong with my spine! Clearly, something was wrong with my spine, right? Some doctors looked at the x-rays and MRI and said no, everything looked good. Others were more compassionate and acknowledged the pain, but had no other solutions to offer. When you're in pain, you want desperately to get out of it, and you’re willing to try anything. You try a lot, it doesn’t work, and you start to doubt you’ll ever recover. You become wary of people offering relief, because no one has ever helped you before and you lost a lot of money to good-intentioned people with bunk solutions. For this reason, I was extremely skeptical of Dr. Pierre. As he assesses your spine and performs adjustments, he talks a lot about success stories and his amazement that this method works. He clearly believes strongly in Advanced Biostructural Correction, and I’m not going to lie, I had my guard up because he sounded like he was in a cult. (Even the trademarked ABC™ term felt scammy to me.)I decided to give Spinal Wellness Center an honest try anyway. I made the lifestyle changes—screens at eye level, no arch supports, no settling into too-soft couches, sleeping with a rolled up towel instead of a pillow—and I went to many appointments. Dr. Pierre performed meningeal releases and vertebral adjustments. I maintained healthy skepticism and cautious optimism. I really wanted to get better.I don’t know how to word this next part, other than simply: it worked. It honestly ****ing worked. My pain is nearly gone. My shoulders are level. My back is upright when relaxed. I can run and jump and climb and tumble. I’ve been exercising more, lifting weights and roughhousing and playing. After years of pain and two months of treatment, I’m completely free. There’s a small problem area that crops up in my left shoulder, but without me even mentioning it to Dr. Pierre, he pointed it out and said “eventually we’ll be able to get rid of this too.” I trust that he will. He sounds proselytizing, but I don’t care one bit, because he really does fix spines.“
