Terrible experience. Wrong color, overpriced, and late delivery. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Very disappointed with this company. The color I received was completely different from what I ordered. They’re overpriced and didn’t deliver on time either. I regret trusting them and wouldn’t recommend their services.

Do not purchase hardwood flooring from Chestnut Flooring. They will not give you your product or a refund even if you pay in full.
My husband and I purchased hardwood flooring from Chestnut Flooring on April 25, 2025 by putting down a deposit, which was paid in-store with the salesperson. We were told that we would need to pay the ramainder in full before the expected arrival date of our hardwood flooring, which was to arrive mid-May 2024. As such, on May 1, 2024 we paid the remainder in full in store with the CEO, on a laptop using the stripe software. He confirmed again that our hardwood was to arrive in mid-May. In mid-May we did not receive a phone call so my husband called Chestnut Flooring and spoke to the sales rep. who stated that the flooring was delayed due to the manufacturer and it would arrive in 2 weeks. Every 2 weeks since mid-May my husband had called Chestnut Flooring and spoke with the sales rep. who told us our flooring was delayed due to various issues (ie. manufacturer issues at their factory, broken machinery, etc.). I got a bad feeling so on July 10, 2024 I sent an email to the manufacturer of the flooring in Québec, Appalachian Flooring, inquiring about the hardwood/machinery issues at their factory. On July 11, 2024, I received an email back from Appalachian Flooring at 11:03am who indicated that there were no issues in the manufacturing of hardwood at their facility. On July 11, 2024 I spoke to the sales rep. on the phone and explained what I was told by the manufacturer, and I would like a full refund to be processed tomorrow on July 12, 2024 when I would be at the store. I also asked to speak to the manager but the rep. told me he was at lunch. On July 11, 2024 I found the owner's phone number online, as he's a real estate agent too, so I called him to inform him of the issues we were having with Chestnut Flooring and to communicate what the sales rep was telling us. I informed him that would be in store on July 12, 2024. I also explained I would need a refund for the full amount paid ($6375.60) as per the invoice as they did not fulfill their part of the contract. At that point the CEO told me he would not be in the store on July 12, 2024 and became angry and yelled and swore at me over the phone, so I hung up.
When I arrived at Chestnut Flooring at noon on July 12, 2024 I spoke to the sales rep and to my surprise the CEO was actually there. I was able to speak to him however this interaction was negative as he yelled at me and swore at me when I asked for a refund. He also yelled at his sales rep in a language I could not understand, and the sales rep. began to cry. As this interaction made me feel unsafe I left the store with a Credit Memo for my refund and in the parking lot I called an employee from the manufacturer, Appalachian Flooring, who confirmed my speculation. The manufacturer said that our flooring was sitting in the warehouse in Québec for over 2 months because Chestnut Flooring had not paid them to release our product. After this call, I sent my final email communication to both the sales rep and the CEO at Chestnut Flooring on July 12, 2024 at 1:18pm where I asked for a full refund and I received an email back from the CEO that stated that we would have a full refund by July 26, 2024.
It is now September 16, 2024 and we have not received a refund for the hardwood flooring that we paid for in full that we did not receive.
Chestnut Flooring does not use ethical business practices and their CEO treats both their customers and employees with disrespect by yelling at them and by swearing at them. Do NOT purchase flooring from this company.

Came here looking for some vinyl flooring for a basement renovation project. They had a great selection and even better prices! Will definitely be coming back here for future flooring purchases

Don’t bother shopping at chestnut, they sell Vidar flooring at a jacked up price. We were very disappointed when we received our floors and found out they were just Vidar. We were told the floor is custom made from Chestnut flooring but that was a lie. Go buy $4 Vidar floor somewhere else, it’s not worth it from Chestnut.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with this flooring company. The salesperson misled me into buying more flooring than necessary, assuring an easy return if I didn't need it. However, upon attempting to return the extra items, I was informed that returns are only accepted before delivery, a crucial detail conveniently omitted earlier. I feel scammed and betrayed, left with 100sqf of unusable flooring and a significant financial loss. The salesperson, while initially friendly, seemed to purposefully omit crucial return information, leaving me feeling deceived. Moreover, after the sale, her attitude drastically changed. When we called to inquire about details for our installer, she acted rudely and even hung up on us at one point. The lack of transparency and misleading information from the salesperson is unacceptable. This unprofessional behavior further soured my experience with the company.Answer to the reply:If returns are not accepted, your advisors should align their advice with the terms stated in the contract to avoid creating misleading expectations. This discrepancy is no different from SCAMS. Despite my clear message, it seems my point isn't being acknowledged by you. Not surprised. I don’t think you would be surprised either to hear that I won't be returning as a customer and I feel very happy to warn others not to trust your business practices either. A piece of advice: Prioritize honesty and integrity to avoid misleading young couples like us or any customers. What a shame!

I was first recommended Chestnut Flooring by my installer who said they carry high quality herringbone floor products. He was not joking. Upon comparing their products to others suppliers/manufactures it was clear that they offered a noticeably thicker top layer and better quality engineered hardwood. I am very happy with my new herringbone floors and received great customer service from Sherry. Highly recommend paying them a visit if you're in the market for some flooring!

Chestnut both supplied the floor and their installer performed the install in my roughly 1400 square foot home in Aurora. Well within the “warranty” period roughly 60 planks have begun to bend, crack or lift in some way.The manufacturer said it was install error from the floor not being flat which was never brought up. Chestnut refused to honour the warranty on their own work.$10K down the drain. They also tried to get out of the warranty at one point by saying that the 1 year was up from the date I made a deposit. Having the company supply and install should give them some reason to stand by their work. They only repaired one plank, had to do it twice and made it worse than it was before. As a response. We were told about sanding the joints between sheets of plywood and staple removal which was done. And were never informed that there was unevenness that would cause you not to warranty your work. In the 2 years of back and forth with Sherry, not once did she mention this. If that was truly the case, you would not have sent out the manufacturer to inspect after I attempted to make a warranty claim. That would have been the first email. The manufacturer also agreed the proposed repair method was not suitable or recommended as the tech sheet says not to glue planks.
