I live in San Diego and signed up for the First Year Collective. We've taken our maternity and newborn portraits so far, and working with Michelle has been absolutely wonderful. She is so sweet and organized and puts in a lot of work to make everything as easy as possible for you, coordinating wardrobe, hair, makeup, and artwork framing and installation. She also sends perfect guides for what you need to do leading up to each session. San Diego moms - my child was born early and Michelle didn't have a trip planned, so she even arranged for another photographer to come take our newborn photos. Our photos are beautiful, and we're so happy we found Michelle!

Michelle was our family photographer for almost 3 years before we moved away. We always felt like we’d found something special with her, but now that we’re having to find a new photographer, I know exactly how to put into words why we struck gold coming across Michelle Popp Photography!It doesn’t take much to be able to tell she does incredible work; classic, elegant images are a testament to her talent. Self-branded photographers are a dime a dozen, but finding someone with a real “eye” for it - that knows how to guide, coach, and set the right conditions for the perfect images - and then capture the moments that will give you goosebumps… that’s the “x-factor” and something that is incredibly hard to find! This is what makes Michelle Popp stand out, and why you want her to be your photographer. There are no dated color gradients, no gimicky over saturation or contrast, just clean images that are timeless and focus on the what’s important: you, your family, and the beautiful touching details that show connection and love. We treasure our archive of photos created by Michelle and my only complaint is that she is pretty much irreplaceable!The end product isn’t the only thing that makes Michelle a one-in-a-million find though - from the beginning it was clear we had found a PROFESSIONAL photographer. Michelle’s attention to detail means she runs a business that’s clear, organized, and from the get-go she takes considerable care to understand you and your expectations, then she communicates clearly so that you understand what to expect. From her client wardrobe, to the ability to assist with finding a hair and makeup artist, to helping style your shoot and even significant other, the comprehensive care over every aspect of you as her client is encompassing and (for a new overwhelmed mom-to-be) so very comforting. Our sessions were so well run we never felt rushed or under the clock. If she had a time limit, we never knew it, and we always felt like we were seeing a friend. She delivers full galleries that are complete - no raw images and “pick X number that you like for me to edit”. What you get at delivery is a robust gallery of beautiful images that are ALL polished and yours to treasure. If you can, opt to do the session video too - I’m glad we found Michelle right when she started adding this feature. I would have initially said no to what seems like a frivolous add on, but the session videos she delivered are truly beautiful and our most-watched family videos to date!We started with Michelle thinking we were hiring a photographer to document our first year as a new family - her Collective package made that simple and easy to accomplish. What we got was a gem as irreplaceable as her photos - her talent, eye, sweet, and genuine demeanor kept us coming back for all our family milestone sessions and believe me when I say, we’d still be booking her if we lived anywhere nearby!

We had a FABULOUS experience working with Michelle! Our pictures turned out amazing!! She captured our growing family so beautifully- she has the best style, lighting and process of any photographer we know. She made the whole process seamless and very personal. Every family needs a go to professional that they can trust. This can be a family doctor, family dentist, family caretaker etc. Michelle Popp is our family photographer. We have used her before, during, and after the births of our children and I cannot say enough about her. She is truly an artist who is so expertly wonderful at capturing moments that will last an eternity.Her skill set is unmatched and because of that, we have a series of photographs and wall art that brings out the best emotions and memories each time we look at them. Her professionalism is incredible, whether its taking the photos themselves or after that step in delivery and set up of the frames. She is through and through the best at what she does. Small business owners often times talk about how fortunate they are to have their clients. We are the lucky ones in this case.
