Right on the beach. Our room had obstructed view but it did not matter. Our roim was next to roller coaster (off season ) Rooms super cute with a sound blocking machine to drown out outside noise.
Super great staff, and clean amenities , modern for the area and Craig is what made the stay over the top! He is a great asset to your team. Keep up the good work
Great staff, very clean rooms with an awesome view of the ocean, fantastic light show at night. And close to the entertainment. Will definitely return
So clean! Great service , so far. The shower walls are so clean I can see my reflection!!
Love it...cute quaint New England beach town...clean and great location and friendly and helpful staff..great first visit here..love this town.
Very comfortable and clean motel. Convenient location to downtown shopping and restaurants. Love that they have chairs and umbrellas for guest use. We will be back!
I can't believe I am giving a motel a 5 star review but there it is. The location can't be beat. Right on Old Orchard Beach, next to the fun park and beyond that the pier. The rooms are small but they have a full kitchen, some pots and pans and utensils, and everything you need for an extended stay except for the food. They are also super super clean and decor is fresh and beachy. The staff are all friendly and laid back. We loved our housekeeper Gereen from Jamaica. She was totally on the ball and made sure we had everything we needed. The pool is sparkling clean and has a little light show at night (as does the jacuzzi). The hotel also plays classic rock hits after dark and the lights next to the rooms keep time. So fun! We had a major downpour during our stay so we utilized the lobby which has a ton of seating, games and two big screen TVs, and also a kids club with face painting and coloring. There's also cold watermelon raspberry infused water and fresh fruit every day. It ended up being one of the favorite days of our trip, just hanging out and enjoying the facilities. Awesome, family friendly, will definitely be back!
Our go to place every Memorial Day weekend. Wonderful, friendly staff, great location, clean rooms.
Just visited for the 7th time and already can’t wait to go back for a week in September! Staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome during the whole stay. The rooms and property are always clean. Would highly recommend The Beachwood to anyone passing through Old Orchard Beach!
great people... awesome rooms... just a perfect place to stay
This place is really amazing starting with the staff. Craig and Cary both of which were super helpful and superb on the phone and in person. Check in was a breeze and our room far exceeded our expectations. The pictures on their website are very updated and the rooms are as shown. The Beachwood was sold out that particular evening and the room was quiet and very comfy. We were heading to a gather on Sunday morning and I was able to make a apple pie from start to finish as well as breakfast .The little kitchen was very well equipped and literally you are steps onto the sandy beach of oob. Will totally tell all I know looking for a getaway in oob!Thank you BEACHWOOD! You guys are doing it right!!!!
It was our first visit and it was beautiful. The motel was spotless with a stove, microwave and fridge in the room. The amenities were good and the staff was very nice. The location being oceanfront was wonderful although the amusement park right next door was closed. I wonder about the noise level when it's open. I would definately stay there again.
The place has been fully renovated since our last stay with very modern interiors, very clean and a pleasant staff. The smallish rooms are what you expect from an oceanside motel but very well appointed with a full appliance kitchenette.
Super nice welcome from Tyler and Jerome started our 3 day stay. Super convenient location especially for the Families with kids, who like to visit amusment park, pool, beach and city centre! Hotel itself is a bit too pricy for what you get, but has all the amenities, selfserve Starbucks coffee and fresh fruits in the lobby. Will be back!
This is 5-star for OOB. A pleasant surprise for this town. Super clean and updated room. Great location on the beach with parking. I appreciated the beach chairs and umbrellas. The pool was nice and warm all the outdoor furniture was quality and pretty. Huge bonus was the white noise system in the room. I have a white noise on my iPhone, but this Modio thing is awesome. I wish all hotels had it. OOB is a loud place but we had a great sleep here.
We just got home from another amazing stay at the Beachwood! The grounds are just absolutely beautiful as usual. My son loved the new colored lights outside the rooms and, of course, swimming in the color changing pool at night! My husband and I love how clean everything is and how friendly the staff are. We even left my son’s blankie behind on accident and they called us right away to make sure we got it back. As long as there is vacancy at the Beachwood, we will never stay anywhere else at Old Orchard!
My husband and I took a last minute trip on our motorcycle and ended up in OOB. We didn't have a place to stay so we looked around. The clean and welcoming appearance caught us and we spun around. It was our first stay but it will not be our last. Super nice people, clean and cute rooms with a great outdoor area. There is no beating the spot they have on the ocean. We will go back as soon as we can. Love it!
My new favorite beach getaway. We stayed at a different motel for the first part of our trip this past August because the Beachwood was booking incredibly fast. So fast, in fact, that in less than an hour we lost out on two of the nights we intended to reserve while browsing options online. The high demand now makes complete sense because the experience here was far superior to that of the first motel. The Beachwood stands out from other lodging in the area with its well-kept grounds, a spacious parking lot (by OOB standards) and a modern, upscale-feeling lobby. The location is nearly perfect--right on the beach and steps away from all the main attractions. Each staff member we interacted with was warm, polite, and genuine. Our ocean view room on the second level had a large outdoor shared deck with plenty of tables, chairs, and sun loungers outside each guest room. I loved the little kitchen in our room which included a small stove, decent-sized fridge and plenty of basic cookware, utensils, etc. It was a much-welcomed break being able to cook a homemade meal after days of greasy pier food and expensive takeout. Everything was pristine and appeared brand new. I was also appreciative of the Keurig in our room as well as as the coffee/refreshments area in the lobby. The only unfortunate part of our stay occurred when a large (and truthfully obnoxious) family of 15+ took claim of the entire sitting area directly outside of our room, then continued to hang out there for what seemed like an eternity. I'm not 100% sure why they chose this space since their rooms were either several doors down or on a different floor entirely, but I'm guessing it had to do with the better views available on our end. Of course this happened right before we were about to relax on the deck to view the sunset ourselves. This was obviously not at all a flaw of the motel but they were still super apologetic about it when my boyfriend briefly brought it up during check-out the next day. They expressed that they try their best to ensure everyone fully enjoys their stay and would have taken care of it immediately if we had we spoken up sooner. I really didn't want to "complain" about something that wasn't their fault in the first place, especially after how great everyone was, so this kind sentiment won them even more points in my book. This is the only place I'll stay during summer trips to OOB from now on. Thank you!
Room is small, but adequate for those spending time on the beach or amusement park (right next door). Location is great - walking distance to the pier and many eateries. We did NOT get in our car even once, except to make sure it would start the following day when we were leaving. Place is clean and love that they have a pool, spa and beach chairs, towels and umbrellas for use. A very nice touch is fruit in the office, along with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Second time we've stayed here. Thumbs up!
Stayed 3 days early August. Overall great experience, however there were a couple gripes. They have 2 hot tubs in pool area. The weekend we stayed one of them was out of order and never fixed. Also I noticed some people had issues with the grills not working. That issue was resolved. This Inn is very neat and clean and perfect for families. Plenty of tables and recliners in pool area, which is heated. They have 3 grills in that area. They also have a small restroom there. There's a shack that u can go to for beach chairs and umbrellas. And the walk to the beach is literally 15 seconds as the inn is on the beach. The room was small but adequate with stove keurig fridge and sink. Bed was a bit stiff and uncomfortable for me. There a table and chair in room for eating and a small table outside each room with 2 stools which was perfect for coffee in the morning. They serve Starbucks Coffee in the office and have fresh fruit there. I recommend a night light for the bathroom. Access to downtown is a short walk to amusement rides and dining, I recommend Big Daddys Bar and Grill for dining. Finally, Beachwood Inn has a rule regarding "quiet time" beginning at 10pm. Wed definitely return even though this inn is a bit more pricey than others nearby.
