We are new to the area. My partner was hit by a car nearby, and this was the closest medical facility I found. The front desk was incredibly rude—telling us to not bother because we weren’t already patients. They didn’t ask if he could walk or what his injuries were, and we had to ask multiple times just to consult with a nurse before trying to drive to another facility. The front desk told me the nurse wouldn’t do anything, and it ended with one woman screaming at me as we left the facility. I think this exchange speaks for itself—you can do better than going here.

Abysmal communication. Time sensitive and important messages on patient gateway are viewed by staff and then ignored for weeks. My doctor no-showed a telehealth visit until I called and the front desk said they’d “get her on the ball.” They canceled an appointment I had booked and awaited for months without notifying me because I didn’t upload my new insurance card *before* the appointment. I have never felt well cared for while a patient at this clinic and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for primary care.

MGH in Charlestown is not a good neighbor. Their facility is very loud, with exhaust vents and air conditioners humming all day and night in a densely settled residential neighborhood. Even a full city block away it's loud enough to disrupt sleep.

I've had the same PCP at MGH Ctown for 20 years, my children were patients since they were babies and brought their children up to the same doctors who cared for them....It's changed a bit over the years, I can remember when the dentist was up there which was super convenient but out with the old in with the new I guess. I'm 71 and feel so grateful that this place has existed as long as it has, my sister's been a patient since forever and has had close calls but she's treated with care by the best specialists and she might not be with us if this building wasn't still here, she's 80 now & still going strong.....I've had a few stays at the main campus over the past few years, my daughter flew me from NH to the ER doors amidst a major heart attack... & will have my 3rd lung radiation treatment at the hospital... from here to there they continue to save my life! MGH has been there for my entire family through emergency room scares, to cancer, and broken bones, my first grand daughter was delivered, on & on & it all began and continues to make its way back to the MGH health center Charlestown being there for myself and my loved ones.

MGH Charlestown is terrible for primary care. The medical staff is unprofessional around medical recommendations and follow up treatment.

If your in need of a good doctor this clinic is not for you. I was told I needed to change because there are no doctors there to treat chronic diseases. They only have resident doctors to experiment with patients. They will leave you to die. Do not attend if your a patient with a chronic condition.

Awful service, been going there since I was a teen. Really great back in the day, now it’s just awful.
