Mariko is literally the best nail technician I've ever experienced and seen! I have been going to her for almost 4 years. I recently got my nails done after FIVE weeks of traveling the world (Japan, Shanghai, Italy, Jordan and NY) and not one single nail chipped or started lifting. She is so sweet, funny and most importantly, professional. She specializes in gel (what I have) and the designs are absolutely beautiful. You won't get chunky tropical design nails with her. May all your gorgeous nail dreams come true! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

I have no shortage of amazing things to say about Salon Novel! The shop is conveniently located on South King Street in town. I found out about this place from a friend who recommended me, and I easily connected with Mariko on Instagram about scheduling an appointment. This place can pretty much do it all- find your nail inspo on Pinterest and you're all set! They also run seasonal specials on certain gel designs that are $69 or $79, and you can modify the colors or the nails you want the designs on. I wanted to try other nail salon in Hawaii since I've been to the popular ones already...while I was searching on IG, I stumble across this new place that just opened up in February. When I saw all the art work that this place did, I wanted to try them out! Luckily I message them on IG and it was a very fast respond from the business. Before I knew it, I had an appointment in a week with Mariko. Little did I know when I stepped into the place it was a small room with two nail technician.
