“I cannot express my thanks enough to Zebulon Animal Hospital! Today, my daughter accidentally left out a pack of chewing gum that our new puppy happened to sniff upon. For those who aren’t aware, the majority of chewing gum contains toxic amounts of xylitol, which can cause life threatening hypoglycemia and liver toxicity. Being our new puppy is only 22 weeks old and only weighs 9 lbs, I was a nervous wreck! I called Zebulon Animal Hospital within 5 minutes of Freddy ingesting the gum and, without hesitation (their office was closing in less than 45 minutes), Dr. Kelly instructed me to get to the clinic as soon as possible. Dr. Kelly was waiting for our arrival and took him back immediately to induce vomiting to get as much of the ingested gum out of his stomach. Due to their quick response and the luck of buying a brand of gum that contains very small amounts of xylitol, we were able to bring Freddy home without further emergent care needed. Our Freddy boy is on the mend and we couldn’t be more grateful! I will recommend Zebulon Animal Hospital over and over!“
