A few years ago, I really wanted to learn Wing Chun and decided to sign up for beginner classes, which was located at the Holly Community Center at the time (Kennedy was closed for renovation). It was Tuesday and Thursday nights, which was perfect after work. On my first day, I was greeted by Sifu Steve, who was my primary instructor. He was great, always patient, made sure I understood the basics, and was easy to get along with. I started learning from Sifu Alson since 2004.That's almost 12 years. From day 1 until now he has never let me down as a Sifu. He was always reaffirming the basics, giving us an answer to every possible hand/situation that we students ask about. He's always in learning mode and sharing his new ideals. Because of that 12 years later I now am a Sifu. It's because of his teaching that I one of the only first Sifu to help/produce a gold medalist in Chi Sao Sparring competition every weight division including myself for 3-4 years straight. Sifu Alson is very personable and down to earth, also lightning fast and extremely efficient from over four decades of practice. He knows how to translate the classic moves into really devastating strikes almost faster than you can see them. Sifu Steve is very patient and guides the beginners through the basics while explaining the reasons for subtle adjustment as applied to the moves in real combat. A very casual and welcoming environment.
