Henry Bañuelos is a holdout from another era, just keeping himself busy in retirement with limited hours and overhead. His wife's family owns the building; it's worth millions. Though he's not a party to the riches, he's allowed to keep his business around, thus he's within a rare precious bubble from which so many other old school mom&pop places have been obliterated by gentrification. Mr. Banuelos is a kind soul and expert barber. His little place is modest and the real deal. His barber chairs have good years on them. If you need a good and earnest haircut guys, come by this place. Get a great haircut and enjoy a nice chat with an earnest barber who knows how to cut hair.

Not bad, there was no wait when I arrived around 11am on a Wednesday. Had an interesting conversation with the guy (we didn't exchange names) while he cut my hair. Suggested something a little different than what I wanted, but it came out lookin' good. Shop interior seemed a little run down and dirty. Have to say I was shocked he didn't use a straight razor to do the back of my neck like every other barbershop I've been to. I would have left five stars had he used the straight razor. $16 for haircut seems a fair price.
