UPDATE: The owner's response has been very professional and comforting. She gave me a full refund and offered a free appointment to fix my haircut. Overall satisfied. They were very friendly. But IF YOU HAVE CURLY HAIR, please please please save your money and your tears. I have been to places where the stylists were trained to cut/style curly hair and BIBO was doing everything wrong. Went in with intact curls looking for a trim and a touch up on layers, left on the brink of tears with a rat's nest on my head. Paid over $200 dollars, mistakes were made.Service: Curly hair

Susie is the BEST. Her communication is great and prompt. She was so chill about my rearranging our schedule and she gave me the hair I have always dreamed of. I've never been happier. We had a real chat- not stupid small talk or awkward silence. I had a lovely cup of tea. And again, did I mention that o finally have the hair I've always wanted?

I lost my regular hairstylst to the east coast and found Kat at Bibo had some last minute openings before the holidays. Kat did an exceptional job. I have curly hair and came in with a grown out shaggy pixie cut that was all over the place. I asked for a bob hoping I had enough to work with. She was able to get all my crazy layers working together, and she did a great job explaining what her plan was and what she was doing. She has such great precision and I could tell she is very meticulous. I was a little nervous because we straightened my hair out first to see the layers better and I wouldn't be able to see the outcome of the curly version before I left, but Kat assured me if anything felt like it needed to be adjusted to call her and she would do a complimentary touch up. My hair looked amazing straight; and on my next shower, along with my normal styling routine I was an awe. My hair is amazing! The curls are perfect and the shape is on point. Definitely will go back to her again.

I would give 0 stars if it were an option. Late September, my first appointment with Bibo, I took time off work (I'm self employed; no work=no $), rode BART for over 30 minutes and walked to the salon. Upon entering the 2 young women at the front desk looked like deer in headlights when I said 'I'm xxx and here for my haircut'. A very long pause and one finally said my stylist (the owner, Susie), had called in sick and wasn't there, they couldn't give me a cut that day. ??? No one could have called me??? I was basically told I was lost in the shuffle because of the way they set up their appointments, it was a very lame sounding excuse. I was infuriated. Unacceptable that no one called, texted or emailed me to cancel. I'm a small business owner myself and this is a giant no-no. I wasted half my day (and my half day's earnings I gave up to go here. I'm sure if the situation was reversed, I would have been charged for the appt. Funny how these things can't work both ways huh?) and got nothing but aggravation and lip service. Susie did call me a few minutes after I left the salon. I was walking back to BART, on the phone w/her (she DID sound sick), while I stopped to watch a smash and grab happening across the street from Bibo. At least I didn't have my car there... Susie was very apologetic and said she'd make it up to me and then I never heard from them again. Here's your 0 STAR review. Never will I set foot in that place and I will now tell the person who referred me about my experience also.

I've waited nearly two years to write this review to give the benefit of the doubt. I started going to Susie, the owner, in December, 2020. Susie is the least professional person I have ever worked with, and if this saves just one person from what I went through, it will be worth it. I went to her initially for Keratin treatments, because my person stopped doing them. She asked me who did my color and said she could do better. I decided I would give her a try. From the beginning she was cold as ice. I said to myself, ok, she's not chatty, she doesn't do small talk, that's fine. But it quickly became apparent that I couldn't ask about suggestions, or what her process was, without getting an incredibly condescending answer back. She routinely made me feel uncomfortable just sitting in her chair. Then she started charging me different prices each visit. I think she forgot how much she initially charged me, and then ramped it up once she thought she had landed me as client. When I was confused and said politely that that's not the rate she had quoted me, she immediately got defensive. She said all our rates are on our website, and then tried to shame me saying, "I don't like people who try to negotiate" and "I might be too expensive for you". I answered, "that might be, but I'm actually just trying to clarify what your rate is, I'm not trying to negotiate, because it keeps changing every visit." Her starting rates are on her website, but that's not the rate she winds up charging me. The problem is, the rates kept changing each time I went in. Last month she scheduled an appointment for me and COMPLETELY flaked. I texted her (her preferred method of communication) that I arrived but she wasn't there, and I got radio silence in response. Her staff was kind enough to tell me she had taken off for the week, and they suspected she didn't tell me. I never heard from her at all, not to apologize, not to reschedule. When I needed an appointment and politely texted her to inquire if she was back and taking appointments, she said yes, I am back, I can see you on a specific date. No apology for wasting my time, zip. I asked her if I could swing by and chat with her for a minute because I wasn't liking the orange color it became, she said can I answer your question when I see you for the keratin? (The appointment she flaked on). I told her I got a treatment elsewhere when she didn't show, so I just needed a color treatment. After that, she never responded. At all. Then I politely inquired if she did extensions, because she had mentioned them before. She never responded. At all. I'm typically incredibly easy going and give people the benefit of the doubt. I've never written a negative review, but I'm hoping to save others from her complete and utter lack of professionalism. I also told her previously I was getting married soon, and that I was in the season of taking lots of photos. She completely ignored my scheduling requests, and completely flaked and apparently left the country without so much as an apology or a reschedule. Susie has no professionalism, and is incredibly condescending, to boot. I found a much more professional, quality salon. Save your time, and your hair. Run from this salon.

Wow, I hardly even know how to put this but I can truly say this was the most unprofessional and unorganized salon I have ever tried to go to. I called to make an appointment for a color correction consultation with Susie. She gave me a quick interview on the phone about my hair and what I wanted and had me send pictures in. She told me she would review my pictures and send me appointment options as soon as she reviewed the pictures. I waited a week and received no response so I called back and requested to talk with Susie again and let her know who I was. She was unavailable at the time so they said she would call when available. Three days later, I finally get a call, and she proceeds to go through the exact same questions and everything we went over the first time. I reminded her that we has already discussed and I was waiting for appointment times. She made me an appointment and when I arrived, she thought I was there for an interview to work at the salon. After telling her I was there for a color correction consultation, she literally said "Oh, I was wondering why a hair dresser would show up to an interview with their hair looking like that" pointing out the messed up color that I was there to correct! I sat through the consultation out of awkwardness, but I would never in a million years go back to this salon. I felt unimportant and disregarded by the first two interactions, but the in person interaction was by far the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. I don't want to go to a salon where the co-owner is insulting me about my hair.

Georgina cut my hair and did a wonderful job! She gave me layers, face framing, added movement and dimension, and took lots of time to make the cut detailed and personalized. I was unsure of what to get and she walked me through my options and was so kind and understanding even when I changed my mind last minute and decided I wanted to add face framing. She also worked magic to fix the choppy cut that my previous stylist had given me (at a different salon) and thinned out my bulky ends. For reference, I have long, thin Asian hair. I would recommend her and this salon to anyone.Service: Haircut

Had a first haircut here that wasn't quite what I asked for and have been having a hard time getting it fixed. I had to wait 25 min before my stylist was ready for my first appointment. Finally got a second appointment. It was pushed back 30 min and then I waited an additional 30 min there, but they still couldn't see me. After an hour I just gave up. Sucks that the receptionist wasn't even apologetic. Guess they just don't respect their customer's time here
