I can’t say enough great things about this tiny little salon. They are phenomenal with scheduling and the job that they do. My daughter was turning 13 on a Monday and for her birthday she wanted to get a big girl haircut. After calling the salon and speaking to the main owner about getting the girl who we’ve used before, Abril , he politely informs us that they are closed on Mondays. I get a text message from her the next day offering to come in on our daughters birthday a.k.a. her day off to give her a big girl haircut. I am glad that I made an appointment here. I am in the process of growing out my hair from a clipper cut and had about 4 months of growth. My hair was bulky and boxy and several different lengths through out. Jesse was able to shape my hair and and texture without out taking any length. He has a very intuitive approach to his work and very knowlegeable. His studio is set up for an individualized experience where you're the main focus of his work. I live in the museum district and willing to make the drive out to get the great service and professionalism he provides.

Jesse is my fairy godfather and friend. I've been coming to him for years for my hair, and I will come to him for many many more! He's the kind of stylist that is always learning and perfecting his craft, and I give him creative control because I trust him that much.I'm thrilled that he's been able to transition to his own space. And I love that Abril has made the leap with him, because they work incredibly well together and make a great team. I recently got to enjoy a makeup session with Abril, and I felt stunning after!Long story short, no matter what service I walk into Funky Zen for, I always walk out with a huge smile on my face and a bigger bounce in my step.
