It was intimidating to walk in but the Kings made me feel welcome and took their time teaching me the basics while I steadily gained skill and confidence.After several years life got in the way and I stopped attending. But once my young son was old enough, I knew Black Belt USA would be the only school I would want him to be a part of. I enrolled him in Tae Kwon Do and just like I experienced, the Kings and their student teachers have challenged him but done so in a caring way to help him grow and gain his own confidence. They have such a great way with kids that you feel at ease as a parent.After a while I felt the itch to come back to Muay Thai. Now mind you I'm approaching AARP age at this point, but the beauty of this school is that it is everything for everyone. So while I'm there to keep father time a little further away, some of my peers in class are training for competitions, or progressing through the ranks to eventually become instructors themselves. We range in age from some in high school to those who are nearing retirement. But we're all there to achieve our own personal goals and create some lasting friendships while we're at it.I've been meaning to write this for quite some time as I do believe we have one of the best all-around martial arts schools right here in Charlotte. So if you want to get into shape or master TKD and/or Muay Thai, give BBUSA a try, you'll feel right at home!“
