Our dog Kaya had been having issues with her rear passenger side leg for weeks. The first vet said it was a sprain which we knew wasn't right. The second vet said it was likely a partial tear of the ACL (CCL) and recommended we go to a specialist, which we did. We booked a consultation and they agreed it was likely a partial CCL tear and explained how they'd fix it. The process is called TPLO. Simply, the CCL can't be repaired so they shave and rearrange the structure of the knee. It involved metal plates and bolts and... TPLO was all they did. We didn't feel good about that solution and it seemed the only one they were prepared to explain to us so we held off and continued to look for other providers. We kept seeing references to "Dr. Wright". "I should have gone to Dr. Wright!", or "A friend recommended Dr, Wright. I wished I'd followed that recommendation." My wife tracked him down over the holidays but on New Years Day Kaya took that final bad step totaling her CCL so we called and booked a consultation with him. ----- I'm going to pause here for a second to state the obvious. No procedure is 100%. No Doctor or hospital is 100%. We all want what's best for our loved ones and it's possible what's best for one family/pet will be completely different for another. There is no wrong answer is what I mean to say. TPLO is fine. I just didn't feel it was right for us or Kaya. Okay, back to it... ----- The procedure Dr. Wright does is a little different. The CCL is gone but what he does is to essentially replace it with two nylon bands that mimic the CCL. The CCL is central to the knee. Dr. Wright's two bands are external (inside and outside) which should actually add a level of stability. This solution made sense to me, has been as successful as TPLO but comes with far lower infection risks per the studies my wife and I were able to find. Kaya took that bad step on the 1st. She had her surgery on the 8th and her surgical bandages came off today (1/11). The office called us the day after her surgery to make sure everything was okay. They've been extremely communicative. Kaya's surgical bandages started to slip so we called the office. Dr. Wright wasn't in but they were able to play go-between. Dr. Wright asked for pictures so he could tell what was going on. I texted them to the office immediately and within the hour we had an appointment to address the issue for the next day. For me the highest prays is this: Kaya is always perfectly happy to jump into the car and go to Gasow. She knows where her room is and is happy to see everyone. That, for us, is the icing on the cake. I'll update as we move through the process but I wanted to be sure to share our experience. Everyone has been so wonderful and the results thus far are stellar. Thank you Gasow. Thank you Dr. Wright. Kaya sends all the kisses.

I'm not the one to write reviews often, but I felt like I had to leave one with the experience I had. I came to Gasow Veterinary Hospital about a week and a half ago for an emergency visit for my dog, because he started vomiting over and over again, and had blood in his stool as well. Gasow was beyond accommodating. There's only 15 minutes left until for their last patient slot and I was about still 35 minutes away from where I live they put me on hold and talk to the doctor and said no problem they're able to accommodate us and have him be seeing that same night. They were truly amazing because I had called three other places that everyone else told me that it was gonna be at 3 to 4 hour wait once I got to the facility. To be honest, I'm so confused on why there's any negative reviews every single person from the people who call and answer the phones to hoop text you when to the veterinary assistants and the doctors are absolutely phenomenal here! I've had to call back for a few questions after his appointment, and they all were able to answer all the questions for me, and even a different Doctor Who was there that day was able to answer my questions. Even the front desk receptionist when I needed to get some thing emailed over to me were so sweet and were able to answer any questions I had as well.I personally highly recommend coming here. I've actually tried out a few different beds before and I couldn't find the right fit. I definitely feel that this veterinary hospital is a great fit for my German Shepherd and I he's about four years and always was a little hesitant due to just a bad experience that he's had with another vet before, and Gasow we're so patient and so gentle and nurturing with him to make sure that he felt very comfortable. It's just something you don't see quite often.I would definitely look past the bad reviews I feel like some people may have just had a one off case scenarios! They definitely care about your pots and are not only caring about the finances. They really wanna make sure that you're taking the right precautions in the right steps for everything highly recommend them we will be changing our vet and being here as his primary care!

I wanted to update my review of Gasow to say that their process for making appointments, checking in once you've arrived, and the whole appointment process is much much better. They are still not allowing people in the lobby and have you wait in your car, but it is improved. I've had to make three appointments this year, and all three were easy to make, I was able to call and speak to someone immediately when I arrived, and the appointments were quick without having to wait too long to see a doctor. You also can go in with your pet now if you'd like, which is nice!I would like to stop giving my credit card over the phone for payment especially since I'm already in their office for the appointment, but other than that I have no complaints. I also really enjoyed seeing Doctor VanHall and thought she was knowledgeable and genuinely cared about my dog.
