My very first Keritan straightening process was dried UNDER A HAIRDRYER INSTEAD OF the hairstylist taking the time to BLOWOUT my hair. This was way way back when Marika had her salon off Rt 9.I was choking and gagging so much from breathing in the toxic fumes of the chemicals on my head. I was unable to lift the heavy hood up while the toxic fumes continued to fill my lungs and sting my eyes.I remember then waving my arms like a white flag in hopes that someone ANYONE would stop and see or hear my gasps and coughs through their chatter and COMPLETE UNPROFESSIONALISM.The only offer from Marika was a drink of water and $30 off the price.I still live with the after affects...read full review
Great Ambience and great service!! I tried this place for the first time. Got a haircut from Helena. Exceeded my expectations!! Worth every penny :) everyone is really nice and welcoming :)
I had been through 5 other salons before I found Marika the hair whisperer. I could not find anyone who could properly cut my thick wavy hair...until now. I heard of Marika through a friend and decided to be brave and try her out. I called and made an appointment with her and she was so lovely on the phone that I felt at ease right away. I came to the salon after a hard day at work and was nervous. The salon is in beautiful Wellesley Center. You have to find street parking but it wasn't hard. The salon was bright, clean and modern...and they have snacks for you to munch on while you wait. Marika herself is hip and full of kind energy. She assessed my hair and I felt she understood what I needed right away! And the products she used smelled amazing. She cut my hair with such an artistic expertise. Her techniques are brilliant and she is truly talented. I came out with a sexy shorter hairdo that is low maintenance and easy to deal with as I told her I don't even own a blow dryer. She listened to me and produced amazing results. We chatted the whole time and I was totally relaxed and happy in the end. I highly recommend her!!! This is coming from someone who has been looking for the hair stylist of my dreams after many failed attempts. The price was excellent and didn't break the bank ;) I will be back time and time again...for the amazing cut and fantastic personality that Marika infuses the whole salon with. I couldn't be happier :)
