My condo association hired Seal Masters of Hawaii to repair the 96 lanais, which are recessed and function as a living or dining room. They installed a staging that allowed two lanais to be worked on at the same time. Residents of my 0X-0Y stack were told to clear the lanais at the first of September and they are still not finished with the stack in mid-February. To clear my lanai, I had to put the furniture into my second bedroom, which meant that I have been without both the lanai and a bedroom during the nearly six months of their work thus far. Of course, other options were to give away my furniture or pay for storage but I didn't want that expense on top of paying Seal Masters out of my maintenance fees. I had expected Seal Masters to finish two lanais on each floor and then move on to the next floor in order to minimize the inconvenience of losing the use of two rooms. Seal Masters did no such thing. They seemed oblivious to the inconvenience on the residents. Their work was not at all systematic. A week often went by with no work done even though the weather was fine. It seemed as if they had no concern whatsoever that the residents were unnecessarily living without two rooms. They failed to inform the residents of when their lanai (and therefore one bedroom) would again be available for use. Despite the inefficiency, the quality of some of their work seems good (e.g., reinforcing the railing) except that they chose to put a rough flooring on the lanai that is uncomfortable to walk or stand on. It consists of "hills and valleys" which I suspect is to prevent slipping when the floor is wet but the paint on the top of "hills" easily comes off. My lanai was finished only a few days ago and already I have many spots where the paint came off from simply moving a light weight chair. I found Seal Masters to be inefficient and inconsiderate in their approach to the job plus the quality of their work is mixed at best.

Made an appointment with this company to work on a lanai in Waikiki and they never showed and then stopped returning phone calls. Do not do business with them unless you want your time wasted.
