Fantastic Sams Cut & Color

I hate getting my haircut. I put off my haircuts as long as possible as I always view getting a haircut as a gamble. 99% of the time, it turns out wrong (even at fancy salons). I am bad at explaining what I want, there always seems be be a misunderstanding it seems, and my wavy hair seems prone to cutting unevenly. It brings me so much anxiety when I need to get a haircut. I was very worried by the poor reviews, but needed a haircut ASAP. Fantastic Sams was the only hair salon I could find that had appointments available after 5pm, so decided to take a gamble despite the poor reviews, figuring that worse case it would be shorter at least. I arrived a bit early for my appointment. The women who checked me in was very kind and greeted me warmly. I had to wait a very short bit, but that is expected at a hair salon so did not bother me in the slightest. Especially when the reason was because the prior client's hair didn't take the color in one spot, so my stylist (Lori) wanted to fix it tonight rather than having that client have to come back. I thought that was very kind of the stylist be willing to stay as late as needed to re-dye it. The other stylist joked and talked with us a little too after she was done with her client. It was such a warm and inviting place, and a great experience. Lori cut my hair, and she is absolutely amazing. She was so warm, kind, and incredibly skilled. She asked a couple questions, I showed a couple photos, and she was off. I was a bit nervous by how little information she seemed to need, but she also seemed to understand exactly what I was saying. Within a couple minutes, she had cut my first layers. A few minutes more, the rest of it was cut. I had cut my own bangs impulsively a few days prior, she asked a couple questions and did a couple magic snips. Then POOF perfect bangs. The bangs I have always wanted for several years, but never got. The perfect length, the perfect thickness, the perfect amount of blending into the rest of my hair. I could not believe she had performed such magic in such a short period of time and with so few snips. It is clear how skilled and talented she is. She was also a pleasure to chat with, and made me feel so comfortable. Even though it was late, and I was the last appointment of the day, not a single stylist or person there made me feel rushed or like an inconvenience for me being there. Lori even took the time to style my bangs and hair after it was a little damp so I could see how the layers looked clearly, how the bangs looked, and because it was cold out. She really cares about her clients. I can finally go somewhere for regular cuts without fear of a bad haircut. It's very exciting! Thank you Lori!!!

Seems like it's becoming harder and harder to find a good haircut without the hard sales pitch for everything on the wall. I appreciate that I can find that here - just solid work for a fair price and they're even pretty nice about it too!
