My son has been going to JKA since he was 5 years old. It has been over 2 years now and he enjoys it very much. JKA shows discipline and what it takes for hard work to achieve a goal.
My child has joined JKA Los Angeles for 4 years now. He really likes it there. This dojo is very big and clean, the mats are cleaned before and after practice. The instructors are very dedicated, friendly and patient. They are very serious about their karate practice. They do not only teach you karate but also self discipline and the importance of training hard on a consistent basis.They also go to many karate tournaments so my son gained a lot of confidence and experience from it.They also have guest instructors from Japan to have joint zoom sessions or they fly from Japan to Los Angeles to give in person instruction. My child has been practicing here for about a little more than a year now. He really likes it there. The place is very clean, the mats are being clean before and after practice. The instructors are very dedicated, friendly and patient. They don't just teach you karate moves but also self discipline and the importance of training hard on a consistent basis. Even during the pandemic, the practice did not stop, it was moved to zoom. They recently reopened the dojo so they have in person practice again once a week and still maintained the social distance between each student and followed the CDC guidelines so I felt safe sending my child there.They also have tournaments, seminars and special classes with other JKA dojos in US or Japan so it's definitely a great experience for the students.
